Superintendent, North Cascades National Park
Advisors
Jason Taylor has served as the superintendent of the North Cascades National Park Service Complex, consisting of North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake National Recreation Area, and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, since September 2026. Taylor first led the complex as acting superintendent beginning in May 2026 and previously served as the superintendent of Indiana Dunes National Park.
The North Cascades National Park Service Complex is home to some of the most inspiring landscapes, unique resources and meaningful experiences on the planet. It’s also a place built on exceptional partnerships with Tribes, local communities, researchers, educators, and philanthropic organizations. I look forward to getting to know the places and its partnerships more deeply and to working alongside the extraordinary people who steward them.
Taylor brings more than 20 years of government experience to the role, including serving as the director of the Aldo Leopold Wilderness Research Institute, the superintendent of Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, the regional chief of the Natural Resources Science and Management Team for the National Park Service Alaska Region, and the chief of natural resource management and science at Cape Cod National Seashore.
Taylor holds a doctorate and a master’s degree in natural resources and environment from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and Environment, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Michigan–Flint.
