Washington’s National Park Fund is devastated by the loss of Olympic National Park’s Hurricane Ridge Day Lodge on Sunday, May 7. The fire’s cause is unknown, but the building was completely destroyed.
In response to the many who’ve reached out asking “what can we do to help?” – and knowing that some things that were destroyed will be underfunded – Washington’s National Park Fund has established a Fire Relief Fund which will be used where the needs are the greatest. Decisions for use of the funds raised will be made by Superintendent Sula Jacobs and members of her leadership team, and 100% of the donations will be placed in reserves and put to good use later this year.
While brighter days will lie ahead for all of our friends at Olympic National Park, these days are not some of them. Thank you for caring during this incredibly difficult time for Olympic National Park.
