Former Design Agency Founder and President
Board of Directors
After summit climbs of Mount Rainier, skiing Mount Shuksan, multiple RAMROD finishes, multi-day paddles of Ross Lake, and numerous backpacking trips with my wife and children, I have a unique perspective on the need for preserving our parks.
Fred brings more than 30 years of marketing experience to the Board of Washington’s National Park Fund. He is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast and has been a heavy user of our national parks since moving to Washington in 1979. His love of outdoor pursuits has also driven his business career. In 2005, he founded Hammerquist Studios, an interactive design agency focused exclusively on working with outdoor and active sports brands. Since then, he has helped brands like The North Face, Specialized Bicycles, K2 Sports, Gregory Packs and Brooks Running with strategic direction and creative messaging. Now that Fred is retired, he is looking forward to using his business and outdoor experience to help the Fund achieve its goals in support of Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks.
