Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone. -Joni Mitchell
“I strive to appreciate and respect all our public lands — but especially our state’s three national parks,” says Margot. “Their ecological and cultural values are irreplaceable. Supporting them through WNPF Board service is a privilege.”
Following college graduation and four years of service in the US Army, Margot’s professional career included manufacturing management and marketing roles at two Fortune 500 companies. Upon retirement, she decided to channel her energies toward responsible use, recreation, and conservation efforts on our public lands. To be more informed, she then earned a degree in Environmental Studies and completed internships with research and wilderness advocacy organizations.
Margot regularly hikes, snowshoes, backpacks, and scrambles, and has enough experience climbing glaciated peaks to know that she is no longer up for it. She is a long-time volunteer leader with an outdoor recreation organization, and at Mount Rainier National Park where she particularly enjoys assisting and engaging with visitors. Margot is married to an avid fly-angler who is also a committed volunteer.
