We’re thrilled to share an exciting new way to connect young minds with math and the great outdoors! Natalie Teboul, also known as Traveling Miss T., is an innovative educator and one of our newest Creative Partners. Through her Math Maps, the junior ranger in your life can practice math on maps of the world, including national parks in Washington state!

Working alongside WNPF, Traveling Miss T. designed three custom, free-to-download Math Maps featuring Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. Each map highlights popular areas of the parks that some might recognize but also showcases locations that encourage further exploration.

These maps are perfect for a variety of age groups, offering activities that make learning math – specifically Coordinate Planes – fun while introducing young minds to the beauty and significance of these national parks. The recommended grade levels for each map are as follows: Mount Rainier (grades K-2), North Cascades (grades 2-5), and Olympic (grades 5 and up).

đź’ Did you know that 4th graders can see America’s natural wonders and historic sites for free? Check out this ultimate guide that walks you through how to get a free park pass for a year, which gives them access to federal parks, lands, and waters – including Washington’s three national parks!

Whether you’re helping a junior ranger at home or planning a trip to one of these iconic parks, these maps are a fantastic resource to inspire creativity and exploration. There are so many people who will never have the opportunity to experience all the beauty and history our National Parks have to offer, which is why I believe it’s so important to bring that first initial exposure to classrooms.” – Natalie Teboul

We’re grateful for educators like Natalie for inspiring future generations to take care of the beautiful and treasured public lands in Washington and beyond. By making these parks accessible in a unique way, together, we can help foster new stewards of Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. We hope to see you on the Coordinate Plane soon!

Washington’s National Park Fund is the official nonprofit partner to Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. With your help, we raise funds to preserve and protect Washington’s national parks, funding youth and family experiences, science and research, and projects that will keep these parks strong and vital now and forever, for everyone. You can support projects like Junior Ranger programs or other projects that enhance the visitor experience at wnpf.org/donate.
