Every Women’s Only Weekend, Washington’s National Park Fund staff, board members, and board members’ spouses invite our female friends of the Fund for a weekend of camaraderie, hiking, stewardship projects, and fireside chats. Our 2018 dates will be released in the Summer of 2018.

Learn more in our Sample WOW Information sheet.
Who’s invited?

Friends of Washington’s National Park Fund who care deeply about Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks and want to both learn more and give back. Attendees are encouraged to consider a gift to Mount Rainier National Park (Suggested minimum: $100).

What’s the plan?

We’ll hike together and guests will assist as “lamp handlers” during the “A Walk Back in History.” We’ll also do a few service projects on Saturday, sip coffee and have optional yoga in the early mornings, sit around a campfire in the early evening, and enjoy some tasty food and drink.

When shall we arrive?

Friday by noon if you can; we’ll be taking a hike that afternoon. Unable to get away that early? Arrive by five. Either way, Washington’s National Park Fund staff/volunteers will be ready to welcome you in.

Where will we sleep?

In the Longmire Stewardship Campground (directions provided once you’re signed up). Bring your camper or tent; we’ve got campground spaces reserved for both. Don’t have either? We’ve got spaces in some platform tents covered by canvas. Think glamping then take it down a few notches.

What will we eat?

Roasted chicken will be served on Friday night; brats and vegan dogs on Saturday. Everyone will bring a cool dish to pass; half will be passed on Friday, and the other half on Saturday. Breakfasts and lunches are on your own.

How about drinks?

Washington’s National Park Fund will provide complimentary coffee in the morning, and wine/beer in the evening.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes! That’s precisely what the weekend is all about…making new friends while celebrating those we’ve known for years. Together, we share a common bond: The love of our Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks. Once we hit 40 attendees, we’ll need to cap it though so get your plans in order quickly.

Ok I’m in… now what?
