Give Back by Getting Active

No matter what outdoors activity you’re into, we bet there’s a way you can support your parks while doing it.

Calling All Cyclists

Ride the Hurricane

Ride the Hurricane is a challenging round-trip bicycle ride up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. Hosted by our friends at the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce, this very unique ride offers exclusive, vehicle-free access on your climb from Heart of the Hills up, with several route options available. Proceeds are split between Washington’s National Park Fund, Peninsula Trails Coalition and the Chamber, but riders also have the option to make an additional donation during registration. In 2021, more than $1,700 was donated to WNPF. Learn more at ridethehurricane.org.

Run (or Walk!) for the Parks

Pacific Runderland

The Pacific Runderland 5K & Kids Run is a great activity for families and hard-core runners alike to give back to Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks. A portion of each entry fee is given to Washington’s National Park Fund to support projects in the parks. In 2021, this event raised more than $3,000 to support projects in our parks. The 4th Annual Pacific Runderland 5k & Kids Run will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Auburn, Washington. Learn more and register at pacificrunderlandevents.com.

We like Washington’s National Parks and the Pacific Northwest. We also like running. So, we thought we’d do something we love, in a place that we love to help preserve something we love.

We are so fortunate to have so many partners in our community who host events that benefit our parks. We also put on a variety of events to that end.
