There are lots of ways to give back to Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. Join us for casual conversations, guided hikes, service projects, and unique experiences. Bring your family, your neighbors, your friends…or fly solo and meet new ones along the way.
Our parks are especially unique. They offer so much to all of us. Here at WNPF, our goal is to bring the magic of our parks to all people, even those who may not be in a position to visit them in person.
Our Virtual Field Trips bring the parks to the people, from the comfort of their own home. Every month, we feature a park ranger or expert and we take a field trip (via Zoom) into one of our three parks. Past Virtual Field Trips have explored the migration pattern of wolverines, mountain goat translocation from Olympic to the North Cascades, one of the most remote parts of North Cascades, the Stehekin Valley, and dark skies in Olympic National Park.
Fireside Circles also bring the magic of the parks into the community – or, in some cases, bring the community into the parks – for special weekend events. These special get-togethers forge stronger relationships with park leadership which building even deeper connections to the parks.
We offer all kinds of engaging events that drum up financial support for critical park projects.
Every year, we host our Auction for the Parks in the spring. You won’t want to miss this special night spent with fellow park friends, WNPF staff and Board members, park rangers, scientists, superintendents, and community supporters. From outdoor gear to adventures and one-of-a-kind park experiences, there truly is something all park lovers will want to raise their paddles for. We also feature Purchase for the Parks items, so participants can “purchase” (give a donation to support the purchase of) items needed by park staff and volunteers for on-the-ground use.
We’re big fans of unconventional fundraising—and we think those who’ve participated in our Climb for a Cause climbs would agree! After all, what’s better than knocking off an epic bucket list item—summiting one of the three most famous peaks in Washington state—while helping to support important projects in the three national parks they call home?
Whether you’re into cycling, running, or leisurely walks, we’re sure our partners have an event you won’t want to miss. Cyclists will want to check out Ride the Hurricane (in Olympic National Park), while runners and walkers should see if the Pacific Runderland 5k and Kids Run in Auburn strikes their fancy. You don’t have to climb a mountain to show support!
Previously, we’ve partnered with our friends at the Northwest Symphony Orchestra for a special classical concert series called National Parks at Benaroya. View the virtual recording and celebrate nature with music by Bach, Pachelbel, a world premier by The Musical Mountaineers and dramatic photography of Washington’s national parks set to music by Vivaldi from the comfort of your own home.

There are none scheduled at this time, but you can be the first to know as more are added by subscribing to our emails or view other upcoming events in our Events page.
Whether you join a run or ride, climb a mountain, attend a field trip or bid on an Auction item, your support matters. Thanks to you, we will keep Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks thriving for years to come.
