Board of Directors
In addition to Vice Chair of the Board, Marjorie serves as the Chair of the Donor Engagement Committee
A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Marjorie fell madly in love with the Pacific Northwest on her first visit in 1992, which included three magical days hiking at Mount Rainier, complete with soaring vistas, dancing waterfalls, imposing glaciers, roaring rivers, scores of different wildflowers, ancient trees, dozens of bird species, and lots and lots of fat marmots. That trip inspired her to make Washington her home, and she and her husband have since enjoyed many adventures in our national parks.
After contributing to Washington’s National Park Fund since its early incarnation as the Mount Rainier and Olympic Fund, Marjorie is excited to see how the Fund’s impact has grown since then. As a participant in Fireside Circles and other Fund events, Marjorie has met and been inspired by rangers, scientists and others working in the parks, and seen firsthand the positive difference WNPF support makes. One thing she appreciates about WNPF is that rather than dictating priorities to the parks, it directs funding based on what the park superintendents tell us they need—after all, who knows better what infrastructure, outreach, scientific and volunteer support projects are most important? Marjorie is honored to join the Board and channel her passion for our parks by helping spread awareness about these special places and the important projects the Fund supports.
