2014 | Grant Amount $9,900

Funds provide internships to two students from the Northwest Indian College (NWIC). Specifically, funding pays for project administration, operating costs and the costs associated with housing the interns from NWIC during the summer of 2014 and summer of 2015. The NWIC student interns work directly with NCNP staff, learning the natural and cultural histories of 50-60 native plants, and the horticultural practices used to grow these plants. The interns lead volunteers and youth in various projects including research, ecological restoration, research, administration and education and they will act as liaisons with visiting tribal youth groups associated with NWIC and local tribes.

This project is generously funded by the Snoqualmie Tribe.
