2017 Funding Priority | Amount needed: $42,000

This project requests funding for realistic, touchable, life-size models of Hoh Rain forest animals which will enhance the experience of visitors, and encourage further exploration of this diverse and complex environment. The models include: a deer mouse chewing on a small section of a Roosevelt elk antler; native Pacific sideband snail, a red-backed salamander partially hiding beneath log; and a carabid beetle digging in duff. An additional option for this proposal includes: Pileated woodpecker on a tree snag. The snag would also feature beetles as well as beetle larva and tunnels.
