2014 | Grant Amount: $6,000

The John Arum Memorial Scholarship was established to enhance the NCNP Ranger Division’s ability to thoroughly train rangers especially in the field of search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical services (EMS), environmental and park protection fields and other related skills. The scholarship provides training to rangers who are currently on the NCNP staff, and likely to use the acquired skills in the future.

Seattle attorney and long-time North Cascades mountaineer John Arum died in August 2010 while attempting a climb of Storm King Mountain within North Cascades National Park (NCNP).
