Fireside Circle events are NOT fundraising events – they bring together people who care about Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks for a fun and engaging experience. Together, we learn more about challenges the parks face, work that these tireless rangers are carrying out, and what’s ahead. Hikes, ranger walks, or other outings are often incorporated. And, we enjoy great food, wonderful company, and comfortable lodging in these beautiful places. For more information, please contact Ashley Stokes.
A Weekend in Stehekin
North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin • Stehekin, WA
Join us in the remote Stehekin Valley for a fireside circle gathering in North Cascades National Park. We will be staying at the Lodge at Stehekin, in unique cabins and guest rooms that include family-size, double, or single accommodations. Spend time with park staff during scenic interpretive hikes, take a nighttime photography tour with Andy Porter, and enjoy cider making at the Buckner Homestead’s Annual Harvest Festival. There is no vehicle access to Stehekin (remote indeed!), so you’ll need to arrange your voyage on the Lady of the Lake Ferry. Interested in adding two days to your trip by hiking in from Rainy Pass? Learn more on our Hikes Page, or reach out to email@example.com for details.
Lake Quinault Mushroom Festival Weekend
Lake Quinault Lodge • Quinault, WA
Join us at the Lake Quinault Lodge for a Fireside Circle gathering during the Quinault Mushroom Festival! We will hunt for mushrooms, take cooking classes, and learn all about the various fungi that grow in the National Forest and nearby Olympic National Park.
Discovery Group Weekend at Mount Rainier National Park
National Park Inn • Ashford, WA
As one of our “Discovery Group” initiatives, this Fireside Circle gathering in Mount Rainier National Park will include some more strenuous hike options and volunteer group activities for those who wish to participate. We will be staying at the National Park Inn and exploring the nearby area around Longmire with WNPF Board, Staff, and representatives of Mount Rainier National Park.
Community Fireside Circles
Evening Fireside Circles are also hosted locally in the community. Whether you bring a group of neighbors, family and friends together for an evening in your home, or host a larger group somewhere in your community, Washington’s National Park Fund will work with you to iron out the details. We’re available to provide the latest news coming out of the parks and share new videos about projects that are underway. Interested in hosting? Let us know!
