Wilderness Information Center Improvements

The primary point of entry for North Cascades National Park users – hikers, campers, backpackers and climbers – is the Wilderness Information Center in Marblemount, just outside the park's west boundary. Washington's National Park Fund provided $7,550 for improvements to be made to this important visitor center.

Because of this important project, the center now offers a secure station for after-hours visitors wishing to register for permits, as well as interior space for food storage canisters. Use, and knowledge, of food canisters has increased the safety of visitors, and minimized negative encounters with park wildlife.
